EMAG VL3 - Vertical turning machine with integrated automation
The EMAG VL3 is a compact, high-performance vertical turning machine that has been specially developed for the highly productive machining of rotationally symmetrical workpieces in medium to large series. Its central machining process - vertical turning - offers a stable workpiece position, minimizes vibrations and enables optimum downward chip removal, which significantly increases process reliability.
A particular highlight of the machine is the pick-up spindle, which picks up the workpiece fully automatically from the indexing conveyor, processes it and then places the finished part back on the indexing conveyor. This integrated handling significantly reduces non-productive times and often makes external automation solutions superfluous.
Thanks to the integrated C-axis and tool drive, the EMAG VL3 is not limited to turning. It can also perform simpler milling and drilling operations - all in a single clamping operation. This increases machining accuracy and significantly reduces the overall machining time.
The machine is controlled by a Fanuc 18i-TB CNC control, which is known for its high computing power, reliability and ease of operation. It supports complex machining strategies as well as the complete integration of automated processes.
